When I was a teenager I thought I was special and quirky for having mental illness but now that I’m in the real world having bipolar adhd and ptsd really isn’t working in my favor

So real like it was cool when I was 15 and got to put it in my bio and make little videos and memes abt it but now it’s like… I’ve realized just how much it’s impacted my life and childhood and this isn’t fun anymore guys 😭😭

I also have this specific trifecta, in addition to autism and dyslexia (neither of the latter are officially diagnosed, but I was at one point on an IEP that said “yeah they basically have these also”)

We all have different wirings which makes us unique hence why the term Neurodivergent is fire! Better than saying disabled people

that’s bc it’s much more noticeable when u have real shit to do, real responsibilities, that’s when it sucks. but if everything is sunshine and rainbows then we get to enjoy all the good things that it gives, like a large part of our personality.

I never enjoyed being mentally ill lol, never ever. I knew I had mental illness since a youngin, and my adhd got worse as I got older, so I was confused like why am I so depressed, so down but life is depressing and hard and mental illness is so toughhh, but ultimately have the power to better ourselves. It doesn’t get better until you change your ways, being positive and kind to yourself works wonders

Oh yeah I understand what you’re saying it definitely wasn’t enjoyable I just thought it made me unique and different. I’ve come a long way since then and don’t repeat the cycles that kept me so sick anymore, I’ve also gotten more professional help too but that can’t make it completely go away. They still all affect my life in some way or another

It will never go away, pretty unfortunate but it’s okay we can build ourselves up, it’s easier with medication, it’s so hard to change especially when the negative patterns runs deep in our head. Hard to get over but can be done

Yayy I see u too, I have autism symptoms as well but I am not seeking a diagnosis because it can be expensive and I just don’t really have time to worry about it lol
