i wouldn’t call it a SLUR and i think that label gets thrown around way too easily in online spaces ngl but i would absolutely agree that the gag of it all is “haha crazy people” which is insensitive to what a delusion/disorder that causes delusions is/are

i guess but i’d also say that there’s more important things in our communities than whether or not a word is a slur

basically yea, and coming from NTs it sounds like the "I'm so OCD because (describes something someone with OCD can do that is not OCD on its own)" thing. Someone can have a single delusion without having a whole disorder but we really need to raise the bar on what gets labeled like this.

I feel like people more often use it to mean “deluded” than “having a delusion”. It’s always hard to exactly define things, but people say others are deluded when they have unfounded bad ideas all the time, and I don’t think that’s a slur or related to the disorder

I guess that makes sense. I usually only hear the word used in cases of entitlement. The YouTuber Charlotte Dobre often uses it in her videos when she thinks a bride is expecting too much out of her bridesmaids (dropping a ton of money on pre-wedding events, not getting pregnant before the wedding, etc).

See that’s how I see the term used the most so it was throwing me off that it was being called a slur.
