this is a common fear. whether you responded or not, it’s not fair for the other person to assume the worst. there could be a number of reasons why you didn’t respond to the compliment.

I do this when ppl smile at me 😭 I end up processing it too slow and by the time I smile back they’ve already looked the other way and it probably looks like I bitch faced them
