Genuine question, what is the point of voting if the final decision is up to the house anyway?

Because we vote for the people in these positions. If they consistently act against their voters wishes, people will vote for someone else. They have to act in accordance to the people, regardless of whether or not they want to. The reason why a lot of them get away with bullshit decisions is because a vast majority of Americans either don’t care about voting or don’t know what their representatives are doing. There’s a lot of problems with the system but that’s the gist of it

house reps vote based on the interests of the districts that voted them in. if they go against those interests, it’s the districts responsibility to replace them.

Regardless, we have to vote because otherwise we have nothing. You can just lay down and let them walk over you, or you can fight with dignity and at least try to make the world better. I have to at least try, or else I don’t think I could call myself a good person, personally.
