ok this is embarrassing but i need help. I don’t eat vegetables like at all, i have an aversion to the taste (ESPECIALLY lettuce so salads are out) 😭 does anyone have advice for how to eat veggies / supplement veggies without them tasting like veggies?

You know those recipes where parents put veggies in think their kids eat? Like zucchini brownies? Something along those lines might help. Or maybe VERY finely chopping them into meals

i like veggies but one thing i’ve been struggling with is leafy greens, and i was reading about like putting spinach or something in soups, sauces for pasta and stuff, or stir fries, because it cooks down so much you can barely tell they’re there (especially if blending a sauce or something). also if you like smoothies you can get them in this way too.

when my mom makes chicken soup she’s blends up the vegetables so you can’t see them

Puree carrots and put them in pasta sauces. Garlic and / or butter on the veggies. Pierogis with veggies and mostly fruits in them. Cover them either tomato sauces or curries

Honestly, take a multivitamin and a daily fiber supplement like meta mucil if you just can bring yourself. A lot of the veg alternatives I see focus on micronutrients (which, granted, are important) but not on fiber!

building off of what #2 said—for me the most reliable way to get myself to eat veggies is putting em in a curry. cause a good hearty curry is like halfway between a soup and a stirfry, and there’s literally dozens of varieties of curry to try so you got plenty of options

all of this advice is good! i also take a multivitamin since i can really only eat one meal per day with my adhd meds and ik im not getting everything. its probably much better to get those nutrients from food if you can tho

are there any veggies you do like or tolerate?

but #1 makes a good point about sneaking them in there- you should be able to find decent recipes on how to hide veggies in things you already like! good luck friend! not embarrassing btw

I agree with the sauces very much so! Especially in ones that already have strong to strong-ish flavors.

especially if you eat it over rice, that can neutralize the texture of the veggies while the curry itself overpowers their flavor. Indian saag curry is even primarily spinach-based but tastes like something totally different :9

Also someone said smth similar but sauces count as vegetables! So do blended soups. Tomato sauce, esp when combined with onion or spinach or carrot, curries, etc
