I find it so hard to not take it personally when my friends don't like the thing that I'm interested in. Like, logically I know that everyone has preferences but in practice it feels like they don't like *me* because they don't like x piece of media

This is not to say I think they're doing it intentionally. My friends are genuinely so great. Just annoying brain moment. But hey, if anyone would like to talk about the cool things about Hazbin Hotel or Arcane w/ me I'm here for it~

Yee :/ I’m passionate about the stars and the heavens. Always looking up when I go out like something’s wrong with my neck haha. It deflates me when I point out to someone “Look! That one is Jupiter! And that one is Mars! And that cluster right there? That’s the Pleiades!” And I just get a “yeah”. But it’s okay. I’ve just begun to share what I think is interesting and if it lands it lands and if it doesn’t I’ll take it on the chin. But ye :(

That sounds so cool tho!! I like looking at stars and things but never know what individual ones are so it's awesome that you can just do that /gen I'm sorry this is a shared experience between us :(

Check out an app called SkyView, or variations of it. It allows you to point your phone at an object and click the info about it. Orion is my favorite constellation, and Betelgeuse is my favorite star. It’s gonna blow up any moment! The light you see when you look at it has been traveling across space for 600 years to reach your eyes. A single photon, made in the star’s core, travels across all that distance, and finally rests only in YOUR eye. Beautiful, right?

And wait until you find Polaris!! You’ll always know where north is. And wait till you learn about the lore of what individual stars have meant to people across time! It’ll connect you to them. And wait till you discover which stars have CONFIRMED planets around them!! Ahhhhhhhh we’re so tiny. And thank you. I hate that you feel that way too. It’s just about finding the right people I suppose?

I'll have to check it out! That fact is actually so cool and like heartening to think about. I find it so interesting how they can know the star is about to blow up when how we see them we're seeing into the past. Just the weird funkiness of time dilation!!

I need her to so bad!! like some parts of her arc were technically resolved and I guess it made sense with the way storytelling works because they sure did wonders at making me feel things but WHY I need her and ekko from this universe to TALK

AHHHH. I just want more hahahaha. I’m sure their other series will be great. But I think jinx is the only character over ever kinda fallen for? XD like Ik she killed people. But like, she redeems herself in the end. Idk, arcane made me feel something - like, it showed you pretty much everyone’s perspective. And I think that’s how it is in real life. Everyone operating from their pov, whether good or bad. I’ve watched it 4 times and Imma continue haha.

AS YOU SHOULD!! I go crazy for morally grey characters because where's the fun in a character that does everything right or wrong?? You see all the shit they've gone through and even sympathize with them despite the horrors!! And that's even just the surface of it. I'm in love with the music choices and sound design and VISUAL DESIGN. It's so damn interesting and fluid and the fact that they did 3d animation and then hand drew 2d animation effects over top of it comes off so well!!!

They built the world so fully that I wholly believe that yeah that's how that world works, in an epic way that they don't even need to *say* most of it with words when they have PICTURES AND THE CHARACTER DESIGN??? STEAMPUNK PROSTHETICS?? God I love it so much. It's so beautiful and scratches my brain just right

YES! Like, I love the Lord of the Rings, but their characters are designed around ideals and so it’s a battle of ideals. But shows like Arcane get you right there in the knitty gritty of what it is to be human, and to make mistakes, to forgive, or not to forgive. And it’s beautiful. And don’t get me STARTED on the art style and music! Like for Caitlyn’s mom’s funeral??? Ahhhhhh. My dad just died 3 months ago, and seeing her surrounded by all those grey figures, that’s literally how it felt.

It’s so good!! Like in the part where Silco dies and Sucker plays in the background, and they show the fallout of those that worked for him and Jinx walking like a shadow between them? Just pure art! Or Vanders memories!!

Same!! It's just even fun to see all the different parts that different people catch on to because it is just so complex and you can pick out any part of it and it'll be well made

I love with the music how they use so many different music artists but all of the music has similar vibes of industrial sounding instrumentation and vocal tone so it all feels cohesive and actually a logical part of the world while still having so many people contribute to it. And it's so seamlessly integrated without needing to be like a musical where they just stop dialogue abruptly to start singing

I love the effects around Jinx’s instability. As someone who went through a little period of psychosis I really identified with it - internal chaos yelling at you. And each time I rewatch it I notice more and more details. Like THAT is quality production. And I completely agree with what you say about it all being internally cohesive. Stop imma end up procrastinating my work to rewatch it hahaha. I listen to the arcane soundtrack almost daily 🥴
