Being ADHD or autistic is people thinking your condition is quirky or just a neutral personality trait and getting mad and hateful when your disability inconveniences or annoys them in any way.

Controversial opinion I know, but personally IDGAF if neurotypicals are the majority and the way we work and interact isn’t convenient for them. Expecting us to never get burnt out, make a social mistake, or stim is the same as expecting a paraplegic to get up and walk up the stairs.

Fr, I noticed a while back that the diagnostic criteria is usually based on how neurotypicals are “affected” by us rather than how autism affects us ourselves.

also everyone self diagnosing themselves saying shit like, and i quote, “we all have a little adhd” and then getting pissed at me for exhibiting actual symptoms of my disability leave me alone!! people don’t realize that adhd can actually be debilitating at times like it is a neurodevelopmental disability people!!

Hot take, but I don’t think it should be part of your personality?

Hot take but it’s a significant part of how our brains function, and therefore affects our personalities
