You were explaining that your experience isn’t something that constitutes a learning disability. That’s not ableism. *Maybe* you unintentionally made it sound like you see high intelligence and learning disabilities as mutually exclusive (they’re not), and that was the issue here? Either way, you’d have to be in a really sensitive/defensive mood to call out something so inconsequential. 😭

I think the only ableist thing is implying that people with learning disabilities aren’t intelligent, but that can also be just you not knowing as much about learning disabilities? Like I doubt you were saying this to imply anything negative or enforce a stereotype

You’re not wrong- Like I said, you’d have to be really sensitive and defensive to even think anything of what they said. And it does no good for “woke” causes, either. It just makes us sound like snowflakes when we nitpick like that. 🥲
