And even after getting here “the right way” people hold prejudice and judgment over you that you’re “illegal” (no one is illegal on stolen land) and now citizen or not you can be deported, so fuck all that right??

u need to have money to get citizenship. My parents been here 15 yrs and we have to pay lawyers and all that and still no citizenship. They renew their work visa everytime it expires. that costs money, lawyers cost money.

As a Hispanic person, it is easy. Either you’re here for asylum (which you can apply for and be here legally) or you’re not, in which case you can apply for a visa

are you aware of how long that takes? people leave to escape violence, so what are they supposed to do? continue enduring that while waiting for papers? or live without them in the us while being paid pennies, at risk while your case is being processed? it isn’t that easy.

they are deporting people with visas my guy. This is to shed light to the fact its costly and hard to attain. Many cannot afford it, but are in desperate need to flee their situation so yeah they do it not the “legal” way.

Everyone will still think you are. I have friends who were born here and they still get told to go back to Mexico. No one carries around their legal status. It’s a stereotype that needs to die

and if you’re denied? you still need the asylum. even if they have enough money to get a lawyer to fight the denial, people are getting deported *on their way* to court for their immigration status.
