Would anyone be interested in tear proof and water proof comics? They would be textured and impossible to tear. Water proof for the bath or pool or drool. My aim is to make accessible comics for people with all disabilities

I mean this with love and kindness: I don’t think anybody is going to buy that. HOWEVER, if you can engineer such a durable material for other artists to use, that may be successful!

Just saying outside of helping us nd people that type of paper could be helpful for shower thoughts/studying in the shower, kids, art (especially origami), important documents, and food packaging. The only concern I would have is its biodegradability. I really wanna see an octopus paint/draw like elephants do tho so I hope this works.

Lol thank you. This is just a rough draft. I am going to commission a local artist to redraw my sketches then The Type Shop (a small printing business in my town) and they would print on a type of vinyl paper that children’s tear free bath books. My nephew who has pica can’t even eat or break those books. But yeah I have no idea how I’m actually gonna get it to succeed but it’s fun to try!

The biodegradability is something I worried about too. One alternative is stone paper. But I go to a day program and most of my friends would be able to tear the stone paper up. So vinyl is the best choice for now. Unless they make potato starch “plastic” paper.

I wonder if cellulose plastics could be modified?

I found a recyclable tear resistant water resistant paper!! It’s just not as strong as I want but it’s a start for printing and giving them out for people to read
