Maybe I’m just not able to understand some people but why does trump have such a cult following? Even though his mental status is rapidly declining and he obviously has a lot of issues going on? And how haven’t we successfully impeached him yet?

He used to have a no bullshit attitude, and use to be very blunt in his words. None of the political fluff, but he’s changed a lot since AIPAC

maga is very appealing to isolated people. maga promises community & they very much promote the idea of “we will accept you no matter what” whereas other political groups are often like “we will accept you as long as you’re not racist/homophobic/etc”

That makes a lot of sense, but also I’m catholic and they accept me as is

However they don’t accept a lot of people, like the maga people I’ve met don’t accept atheists (amongst many other religions), pro choice, democrats/liberals, certain types of appearances on people, etc. I feel like they’re one of the most close-minded groups out there

I mean I have personal reasons for not accepting those people, I’m pro-life and honestly that’s my line in the sand. I’ll accept anything else. But under the dems I felt a huge financial burden, but now under trump everything has gone to shit. I know why too. I just thought he’d have a spine.

They’re also a very large population of America. People didn’t start being outwardly antiracist until the past ten, maybe twenty years. With the rise of liberal ideology in recent years, maga type people began to feel isolated and marginalized from society, so a leader like Trump who promoted all of their ideas and was this rich guy (to the public eye at least) was some kinda beacon for them

It’s hard to describe accurately since there’s so much that contributes to the rise of a political movement. But to me, I think the extreme solidarity in their group stems from their traditionalist views and ability to appeal to others through charm, deception, and displays of wealth

I agree, I remember growing up, listening to Obama, Clinton, and Biden and they all made it seem like it was a crime to be white. Instead of tackling the real issues, as a logical person, it bothered me so much and frustrated me. Now I understand they all cater to lobbyists. Not to the people who elected them
