Lately I have barely been able to eat. I feel hungry, but putting food in my mouth makes me gag and I don’t want to eat. I’m on Concerta for my ADHD and I know that causes “lack of appetite”, but does this include what I have, or just being “not hungry”?

this is lack of appetite. it’s a psychological thing not physiological. have you tried drinking a protein shake?

I’ve gotten like this twice before when I took my adderall for every single day for a long period of time. I felt nauseous because I hadn’t eaten but also the idea of eating made me even more nauseous. I didn’t eat for two days each time and fixed it by literally forcing myself to eat saltines/chips until my nausea went away and hunger kicked back in

Protein shakes saved me when this happened to me.

I can sometimes only stomach my absolute favorite foods or foods with strong flavors (salt and vinegar chips, spicy foods, very sour stuff). For me, protein shakes make me gag even when not on meds, so it’s really about finding the few foods you will eat.
