I also started with Prozac for about a year and then tried Lexapro for a few years for OCD and depression. Neither helped me but I also didn’t really have side effects from either. For comparison, I tried Zoloft next and it helped my ocd some but not the depression and I started having intolerable side effects at 100mg, which is a pretty low dose. I now take an atypical antidepressant (remeron) which has been super helpful for both OCD & depression but has horrible side effects. Good luck!

lexapro worked for me, i just recommend taking it at night cuz it made me super tired. they tried moving me from 10mg to 20mg and i kept falling asleep while driving in the morning, so they had to bring me back down to 10. it does help tho, my partner noticed how less anxious i was.

It’s definitely different for every person. Lexapro made me gain weight in my hips (which isn’t great cause of the dysphoria) gave me heartburn, and increased the suicidal thoughts I was having. I’m on welbutrin/bupropion now and it’s soooo much better. Completely subjective though.
