I really miss the past. I miss when we still had all three of my childhood dogs. I miss when all my siblings still lived at home. I miss summers off from school before we had jobs. The breeze, mourning doves, staying up late, getting up late, I miss it

100% same. Simpler better times. Now I don’t see two of my sisters as much and it makes me sad :(

The past is still around, you just gotta go find it. Go see your siblings, sit outside in the morning on a day off. Do something that makes you feel childlike bro. Go run around. The child in you only grows up when you let it homie. Also remember that this will be the past someday. Find something now that will make you feel this way then.

maybe this is why people have kids. to recreate that with new people. maybe you can create something just as beautiful, but different

This is good advice, thank you. But nothing will make me feel the same. Not while my dogs are gone. I’m a huge animal person and miss them so much. But thank you. I will do those things

It’s very hard when we lose the things we love, and I’m sorry about your dogs. I would also never suggest “replacing” them because that belittles what they were to you, however, sometimes new pets or even plants can form new relationships that warm the heart though! Just because that thing you loved isn’t around anymore doesn’t mean you can’t find love in other similar things. Good luck my friend and I hope you get those feelings back!

I do have other dogs now, and they don’t replace my pups, especially my Cedar, my favorite(don’t tell them I said this), but it does help me feel less alone. Thank you <3
