thanks for reminding us that us autists (and people with disabilities) exist only in reference of other people in our lives, and in our amount of utility to other people, but not as individuals with intrinsic value. their ‘stress’ takes precedence over the debilitating dysfunction that incapacitates us and feels like torture because u ableist fucks don’t see us as beneath the average human, and think the only way for us to fix our ‘illness’ is to compromise for others (masking).
makes sense that when u try to be encouraging or motivational, you don’t think us working on ourselves is maybe more valuable even though for allistic ppl you might think that self-improvement is necessary. if u think we need to mask, then naturally u think what matters for us (who aren’t just vessels for the ‘illness’ you pathologize, but are also the contagion that plagues their loved ones itself!) is what ‘we do to others’ because we’re malignant entities with no agency. not our feelings.
Omg no 😭 Was trying to say, sometimes it’s hard to get help for yourself when you’re feeling so burnt out and tired. Maybe try digging deep and thinking about how helping yourself helps those around you, when you don’t feel like enough to save ❤️ Sorry for sending the exact opposite message I was trying to send, think that’s enough internet tonight for me 😣
