I do think that this (“destroyed”) is exaggeration for the point of humor. The author is simply disappointed or frustrated with the treatment they’ve received.

I do not truly believe that they should be destroyed, I was only joking. However, neurotypical people will never understand how it feels to be like us and they may never adopt behaviors that allow us to better integrate into society.
