This is actually a really interesting point. Partially because a lot of men say that women do NOT belong in the military, but also want to play martyr when women aren’t included in the draft. I don’t quite understand it.

“Men are capable and disposable so they can be drafted, on the other hand women must be protected and more suited for other kinds of things so they are exempt” I think this is the kind of narrative that many men and women are taking issue with, and often actually agree on what the problem is - widespread institutions ingrained with traditional views of gender as a basis for standards.

I think it’s a product of gender politics/right leaning rhetoric to frame discussion of gender equality as a problem more than a larger picture - that society/the wealthy squeezes us at every opportunity with whatever narratives are adequately useful, can put us into groups, and divide us, regardless of if they’re conflicting.
