
“Men are capable and disposable so they can be drafted, on the other hand women must be protected and more suited for other kinds of things so they are exempt” I think this is the kind of narrative that many men and women are taking issue with, and often actually agree on what the problem is - widespread institutions ingrained with traditional views of gender as a basis for standards.
I think it’s a product of gender politics/right leaning rhetoric to frame discussion of gender equality as a problem more than a larger picture - that society/the wealthy squeezes us at every opportunity with whatever narratives are adequately useful, can put us into groups, and divide us, regardless of if they’re conflicting.
