I read executive dysfunction as erectile dysfunction and I was like I thought it said female adhd?

I think I’m probably just misunderstanding the graphic but isn’t this more than just ADHD? Autism is in there along with chronic pain and early trauma

All those things being outside the iceberg is a bit bothersome

Like some people with adhd can definitely have those, but they’re not caused by the adhd? I could just be completely missing the point though. I tend to do that a lot

The books is “Tip of the ADHD Iceberg” by Dr Samantha Hiew It does touch on ADHD, ASD, and AuDHD. And I think she also talks about the overlap of these disorders too and why they’re similar and the differences. We JUST started reading it haha It’s already been an interesting read just to learn some science and facts.

So I wouldn’t use the iceberg to diagnose. From what the author wrote, 1) a lot of overlap between ADHD and ASD (she talks about those and AuDHD) 2) the graphic is moreso to highlight what people typically think ADHD is. Like “oh ADHD is only these things” in women versus “oh there can be a LOT more to ADHD than just the surface level stuff”

But yes she talks a lot more about all of these points you make in the book. This graphic was one of the first pages just to dispel that ADHD is only “inattentive” and “anxious depressed people pleasers”. Moreso highlighting there is MORE under the surface so to say
