If anything “causes” autism it’s socially/emotionally restricting your children and then throwing them into adulthood. Because now I’m constantly going back and forth between am I undiagnosed or was I just raised in a Christian household

Grew up in the woods for 10 years and then I was diagnosed with autism at 12 years old and I’m still paying the price

trauma can look a lot like autism or other neurodivergent disorders. i would honestly look into solving that before anyone else.

I do want to clarify: this is not me negating actual research. Just observation and commentary on how ironic it is that the people that claim things like vaccines and food coloring cause autism are the same people that refuse to let their children socially/emotially/physically develop along side their peers and then wonder why they struggle as an adult

My mom gets mad if I even bring up diagnosis(having health issues and trying to get that resolved) in any way and says me getting diagnosed with autism wouldn’t change anything

But it could change everything. What if a diagnosis causes your medical team to take a different approach and it works well for you? And if it won’t change anything then no harm no foul but either way it’s not her body and she’s not your doctor

Are you in a position where you could handle all of this without her?
