Does anyone else feel like what’s up is the most terrible greeting? Like am I supposed to answer that or do I just nod and say hey or something? What are some other really confusing greetings that you guys hate?

usually the answer to What’s Up is ‘nothing what about you’ or if you’re doing something interesting you talk about that. either way generally return greetings and questions like that

I work at a summer camp and hear my name said so often that I auto respond with “What’s up” whenever my name is said, it lets the kids know I heard them and they can tell me what they want

You do realize how much slang comes from black culture in the first place right? That doesn’t mean we appropriated it. That is quite literally how language works. It is passed down for generations. Also you are allowed to have a preference on language. Many people prefer not to use certain words or phrases when they talk. That doesn’t make someone racist.
