
yes!! when we grow up being consistently traumatized, we end up with what ive heard called an “abuse quota” that your nervous system will try to meet by self-sabotaging in many ways! somatic work helps a lot, things like jumping while letting ur arms hang loose, pounding on your chest while letting out a deep HUHHHH noise, or highfiving your heart at random times when u feel safe to remind urself what that feels like and then starting to do it when ur agitated to remind urself you CAN feel safe!
