Well better is relative. My rule is avoid them when you’re extra emotionally volatile but if you’re capable of holding a cordial conversation with them specifically then you’re good

Thoughts are thoughts. Let them pass. The more you cling to the negative feelings they’re associated with, the more you’ll have them. And if you lean into them positively, the same will happen. It sounds stupid but picturing the thought physically leaving you somehow, like a leave passing by in a breeze, is helpful. But i get how tempting it is to keep bashing yourself up for it.

Sometimes you think its the kind of thing that you’re supposed to beat yourself out of and thats the moral path. Its important you deconstruct that. Everything else is unfortunately practice and relying on memory when emotional
