
I had a friend like that. Not only would she only reach out when she needed me, but she’d spam call me and text me like it was a life or death situation, and it was normally something stupid that she needed. She was making my anxiety worse, so I stopped responding altogether for like three years.
That’s interesting because the longer I’ve learned to embrace being by myself since the moment I decided having friends was not a priority of mine, the more it feels like a chore whenever somebody requests to meet up to catch up or whenever old friends invite me gatherings. So, I had like the opposite effect. You’d have to be an extraordinary friend for me to want to invest any time in you nowadays.
