i understand both sides since mothers are often disproportionately overworked with mental load and domestic labor and it’s a pain in the ass to explain everything, but it for sure is hurtful to hear that from someone you love

I’m usually on the side of the child tbh. Are they overworked compared to fathers? For sure and that’s super shitty. But there is no excuse in the entire world to be a dick to your child. Especially in a kinda ableist way.

Also like maybe I’m a bitch for this but parents signed up to be parents. I’m not gonna give them slack in this regard cause yall signed up for this so you have the responsibility to be fucking KIND to your child?? Like. Being a parent is hard but that doesn’t give them the right to be shitty to their kids. It’s why I’m not having them cause I know I couldn’t do a good job. Maybe I’m biased cause my parents are shit but still I do care about this sorta thing a lot.

i agree for the most part but a lot of adult children can be really entitled and use their mother’s labor in cooking, cleaning, etc, and never help contribute to the family. my brother is an example of this.
