Everyone has a little bit of everything Karen, but the part that makes it the disorder is the debilitating parts 🙄 like ugh.

Oof. Every time a mental illness makes the rounds in public consciousness, over time the conversation is like: “hey more people have it than you realize. Actually, that’s the Bad Disorder for Bad People. Actually everyone is faking the disorder for excuses/to be lazy. Actually, everyone has a LITTLE [Dx]”. It’s what happened with ADHD, OCD, Autism even. The worst.

(28F single, no kids) Like a week and a half ago my ADHD autistic self was getting a pedicure and there was a lady also getting a pedicure. And they were talking about their kids. And the one doing their pedicure was talking about how her kids are in college and want to be doctors. And then she was saying comments that her son is “slow” because he is “dyslexic” and he used to struggle as a kid. I was like 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Worst part is that none of those ideas fully serve the ppl with the disorders. Even with the first wave, it’s rarely more than surface level stuff.
