It is a relevant point if using Google doesn’t actually do the same thing. When you search on Google, AI comes up automatically anyway😩.

I’m tired of AI in all forms and Google. It’s literally just data mining sites. Duck duck go allows you to turn off ai search. And choose your search engine. I use one that plants trees when I search.

and Google presents the info on the FIRST search line in such an organized and nice way that people automatically think it's correct. they use that information to make TikTok's/Reels/whatever spreading the misinformation. it's crazy!

my point is google is actual search engine. chatgpt is only giving info it’s fed from other users. one is a ton more reliable than the other & isn’t destroying the planet with every use

You can actually search whatever you want and then add -ai at the end and it’ll get rid of the ai overview thing!

Ok but that isn’t causing active harm to the environment, work force, plagiarism, lack of critical thinking, psychosis, etc.

I just don’t get why we’re bringing other factors into this. Unless you mean to say that the ai use was just another possible cause as to what was wrong. It doesn’t change the environmental impact and it’s been noted that critical thinking has taken a huge hit. I’m a high school English teacher, I see it a lot.

AI is used in data centers that we had to actually build. So each time you use AI, it gets sent to one of these centers and it uses up a lot of clean water to process your request and give you an answer. I think it also causes noise pollution for people who live around those centers

See thats where idk either I’m assuming as a cooling thing. But google uses ai so heavily now I’m sure they have their own data centers already and needed more for ai/ converted theirs to more ai centers
