I hate navigating dry conversations when someone’s not in a talking mood. I feel annoying if I point it out, ignoring it by asking more questions makes it feel like an interrogation, and not replying anymore doesn’t sound right either 😭

If they’re not in a talking mood, why not just back off?

if they don’t want to talk, don’t make them talk. if you’re getting the vibe that they don’t like you, it may be a sign for you to find some more respectful friends

Offer time in person and back off. You don’t need to dig yourself this hole.

Especially since I worked up the courage to message this someone after months of thinking no contact and thinking they don’t wanna talk to me anymore. Now it feels like my anxieties are being validated, but I often take stuff personally. I genuinely feel like an unwanted bother and don’t know if I’m just tweaking or not

Sometimes in this situation respectful silence is the answer

My anxieties were close minded and selfish about it tbh. I missed them, felt entitled to their time, and thought we could go back to being close and chatty. I got humbled by reality and left them alone soon after making this post 🥲
