I drink this when my energy levels are DOOKIE and I need something tasty. The vitamin C specifically helps with my immune system and energy, the milk has iron n calcium, the turmeric helps with my blood sugar, and it tastes delicious…

tumeric chelates (removes) iron from the body so anyone that has iron deficiency or is looking to increase their iron they should def skip that ingredient

Definitely fact check me but I believe turmeric is really only beneficial if you pair it with black pepper. Our bodies don’t absorb very much of it on its own but the black pepper helps for some reason

Turmeric is also good for body inflammation and ginger is good for digestive health too! :3

I love this graphic and the drink sounds delicious - full of vitamin c and phytonutrients. But it’s also really high in sugar so it may be helpful in a short-term situation but expect a sugar crash later.

Is normal milk acceptable in place of coconut?

You can actually eat the lemon peel too! It’s really rich in nutrients like fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Just wash it first

Be careful though! Some meds react poorly or don’t work if you had a high dose of vitamin C with it! Make sure you check if they’re compatible first :3

Yeah! It’s all up to personal taste, but I’d do about 1/2 cup of pineapple, 1/2 cup of mango, like 5 or 6 slices of orange (no peel), and about 2 or 3 slices of lemon (also no peel), a pinch of both tumeric and ginger, and a cup or so of you choice of milk. I personally just chose coconut because yummy. The honey is to taste if you want it REALLY sweet.

True, true… I also forget that some people have higher power blenders. Mine is dookie and doesn’t blend well, so I try to give it an easier time 🌝 but eating some of the peel WOULD be healthier!

Oh yeah if you’re blender don’t blend it that won’t work, you could always zest it too with a cheese grater 🙂‍↕️

This is true. If you really want the active ingredient (curcumin) working its magic on you, you both need to activate it with piperine (from black pepper) and ideally take a more bio available form of curcumin (like longvida or meriva). But if you don’t have access to those, you can still get some benefit if you consume a good amount of turmeric every day.

lol! One of my friends said she’d probably add vodka. Probably wouldn’t be bad, but I avoid alcohol since it messes with my blood sugar. But a good virgin base makes for some fun mixtures for those who DO drink!

Smart! One of my friends who happens to be Indian said it reminds him of an Indian dessert, so apparently topping the whole thing with almonds or pistachios would add a lot of flavor too 🤤 I love the ideas people are adding on!

Hrmmm, I don’t know if I’d personally like the taste of coffee with it, but I think black tea would be delicious, and also a source of caffeine!

Oh absolutely, especially if you don’t use a sugar free coconut milk (which to be fair, the image I used is not a sugar free one), but sometimes it’s worth it in specific situations. As a type one diabetic, it’s honestly an “emergency snack” that I only drink every once in a while

and sugar also lessens the function of your immune system. eating the fruit whole would be slightly better because of the fiber, but still lots of sugar

Very true. The immune system could maybe be supplemented with a Emergen-C packet and less fruit, with more sugar free coconut milk or an alternative!
