Reminder that being autistic isn’t an excuse to be an asshole in front of the whole class (I know way too many folks that do this and it’s pissing me off, like I’m autistic too but I can be respectful still)

There are people with different support needs than yourself. A lot of level 2 and 3 autistic people literally cannot tell what’s disrespectful about what they’re doing unless you tell them. That’s part of the disorder. Just tell them what they’re doing comes off as disrespectful, because a lot of the time it’s confusing social rules that nobody told us

Honestly I know it’s in wicked poor taste, because it would encourage people to mask, but like how has nobody created a course how to blend in as an autistic.

By the way for context this isn’t a diss at folks who have limitations when it comes to this sort of stuff, trust me, I understand it’s difficult to pick up social cues and whatnot. This is meant for those folks that do know and simply refuse to be respectful because it’s “easier for them”

You’re absolutely right, and what pisses me off the most is that nobody else (not even the professor) wants to tell him that and set that boundary

I’ll happily do it (and I have done it) but it should not be my job /gen

like i know how to keep to myself and not be a dick but i’ve never bothered trying to change my body language so i wouldn’t be surprised if i look like i’m miserable all the time
