I hate having a roommate in the dorms. She’s always here, I can never unmask in my only safe space. My body and brain are so exhausted.

Honestly it’s a shitty roommate move to never leave, mine did the same thing. I ended up spending a lot of time in my car or in the woods

my roommate has 2 classes a day at most, she’s ALWAYS in there and i never get alone time, makes me mad sometimes because the only place I can relax is at the library but its crowded there 24/7

Same. My roommate just stays in his room all the time and just plays on his phone. I never have a place to study or even enjoy my hobbies. He barely talks at all, so there goes trying to communicate my concerns with him

Yeah… I try to spend time at the library, but I can’t fully decompress unless I’m in my room and away from everybody. :,) The woods sound relaxing <3

Yeah I’m the same way, I gotta find places to be alone. I have a little suv and I’d just go park it somewhere and relax in the back seat :) or the woods like I said if it was warm enough. Could be worth dropping hints to your roommate about them getting out more but that didn’t work for me. Could also be direct and just tell them they need to leave more often but I could never figure out how to say that

I had a single the last 2 years, but couldn’t get one this semester. Fingers crossed that I get one in the Spring. 🤞

Just know that you’re not alone. At least it’s temporary, we got this.

If you want someone to leave, pay for a single. It’s their room as well, they’re allowed to stay in there if they want to.

Yeah what 7 said but also yes I know they’re like legally allowed to be in the room all the way but I’m talking about what is courteous. Like with my roommate, I was in a long distance relationship and my gf came to visit and I pretty explicitly asked him if we could have the room for a bit and he said no. Like I’d definitely leave for him if he asked. I just think It’s a bit inconsiderate cause we all know we’d like some time alone so why not give it?
