I think blinking? You are supposed to blink “normally” while making eye contact and staring is not blinking

I usually look for 5-6 seconds and then look away briefly and blink then loop

Here’s a trick for all my autistics that struggle with eye contact: look at their eyebrow! Most people can’t tell when you’re looking at their eyebrow vs making direct eye contact

Look away every now and then! Either look at the surroundings or maybe look down at their lips (I do this often since I cannot hear super well). Make sure you aren’t just staring directly at their eyes for the entire conversation, it makes you seem intimidating and is off putting

It's also like smiling. If you're focused on doing it too much it looks forced and unnatural. So like. Blink, don't open your eyes too wide, stuff like that. Eye contact is just looking at their eyes like you would look at anything else
