im scared to get an official diagnosis because it could actually limit my life decisions

Why would a diagnosis limit your life decisions? If anything I felt like being undiagnosed was incredibly limiting because I thought i was just lazy and stupid. Now that I have a diagnosis I can better manage my symptoms.

Well for one they don’t give live insurance to bipolar people and life insurance would be PRETTY damn nice
