How do you handle applying to jobs? I'm actually quite qualified (yay a useful special interest I've dedicated half my life to), but I get so depressed and overthinky from the pure statistics on job applications, I can't make myself submit anything! Halp

my philosophy is that giving up before you even try is doing nothing but ensuring that you fail. and nobody’s just going to give you a job out of the blue. so i just push through it and apply to everything

no thinking. submit to any & everything u can find that suits u. if they dont take u, its like u didnt submit one at all & ur no worse off, BUT IF THEY DO then u have a job🙂‍↕️

it depends on what kind of job you're looking for, but if you're just looking for something basic to do on the side (like not career based) then I find quantity over quality is really helpful so I just mass apply to everywhere with a decent salary and so that way you're guaranteed at least a few responses

Like how at least at one place I want to apply, only 2% of applicants even get one interview. If I can get the interview I can do well, but the 1 page of resume you're expected doesn't really capture what I know and have done

That's a good idea, thanks! It's so different than all my other jobs where I was referred by a friend, didn't have to apply and barely even had to do an interview.
