Fair. As a Battletech fan and Warhammer Fan I funny enough have never played the boardgames. Only the videogames though I do collect and paint. And read the books. But there are so so many books. Its a good problem to have for me tbh.

Oh man, if you love Game of Thrones, Battletech is game of thrones in space. Cept its mechs people want instead of dragons etc. and lost tech from before the star league (space un) fell apart.

Oh so many, the inner sphere is full of warring factions for said tech to become the new ruler/united of a new reformed star league. Got house davion, steiner, clan kurita, etc Then of course apolitical religious tech order the word of blake and later other groups emerge. Also learn a lot about the mechwarrior mercenary groups(hedge knights) that help these conflicts for galaxy wide dominance/land/independence.

Its great I have been enjoying the books. Especially since right from the start of the series you see just how much the whole universe is somehow simultaneously so advanced and yet almost medieval feudalist with their rule and desire for other planets etc. some people also just want freedom. Some want to make money while getting tangled in the mess and realize how dire things are. And sometimes maybe you get a space holy war and other stuff emerging. It has got it all for that type of settin
