I’ve never heard of this happening with antidepressants or anything, I’m half convinced that this is specifically transfers doing this intentionally to try and embarrass people out of being trans. It’s so fucking weird. That and isn’t it kind of like a violation of patient privacy!? Like, um!?

This is a colossal HIPPA violation just fyi. You do in fact have legal grounds to sue. If one of my people at the VA did that I would be buried in fucking paperwork and having to get everybody retrained on simple ass shit that they should know better from the most basic of courses in medical school/general field knowledge.

Pretty sure that’s a HIPAA violation to announce your medications like that

i mean they were just being very audible. they weren’t like playing it over the pa system or anything. probably just the ppl in the pharmacy area could hear

It’s still a colossal no no. You just call a patients name/ticket number if applicable. You don’t go dropping what the medication is and/or what it’s for. Even if it’s just other pharmacy staff just back there.

This sort of thing is so open and shut you could get representation pro bono pretty easily. I did similar for an illegal firing at my workplace a few years back (USERRA)

i don’t have names and it would probably just fuck over an innocent pharmacist. idk i can’t be sure they meant to cause harm and even then is it worth putting someone out of a job or worse for a minor act of transphobia? probably but when added to how scary people are, idk if i could do it

Pharmacies have cameras especially in the area where the medications are. You don’t need a name. Just the day you went in.

And they should know better, so if they are doing something so simple wrong imagine what else they may be messing up on. Malpractice can kill. This is about the principle of the matter more so than a payout. You getting paid is a bonus. Professionals have standards and not adhering to them especially in the medical field of all places can cause death or damage to the systems image in others causing a buildup of distrust/unwillingness to use regular medical facilities due to fear of something lik

E being potentials outted as trans, or because you have x disorder people start treating you different, etc. Don’t do it for you, do it for everybody who may be hurt as a result of inaction if you don’t because HIPPA is emphasized so heavily in the medical field so doing something so simple like that is so fundamentally bad for a pharmacist/doctor especially out of anybody. I’m just the HR person and even I know had bad that is. Probably also cause of the paperwork.
