i hate when neurodivergent people with adhd/autism try to justify their use of the r-slur that word was never originally used for you and ppl did not call u that cause u had adhd/autism. not every community needs its own n-word

the official diagnosis used to be “mental ret*rdation” for things like Tourettes and autism. maybe do some research before making such a claim

I fear I have autism and I’m called the r-word on the daily. I personally don’t use it but I feel like it’s not my place to police other oppressed ppl either

so real. i hate when people use it no matter what diagnosis they have. reclaiming a slur means turning it into a positive thing. using the r slur is never positive, it is only used as an insult based on intelligence and function. if anything being autistic means i understand personally why it’s important to never insult people based on things they cant control. i’ve never been called the r slur but i’ve been called slow and i would never say that to someone bc i know how much it hurts.

how is saying “not every community needs it own n word” comparing slurs ? its just weird to me how white people have this obsession with finding their own slur they can say that nobody else can

it may have been used for autism but it still doesn’t change the fact that no one should be using it. its ridiculous to me that every community especially ones with high amounts of white people in it want their own special slur. also it was mostly used for autistic ppl with lower functioning which ppl love to forget about

No the whole point of what you said reflects neurodivergence 😭 not once in your post did you mention white ppl using adhd/autism as a scapegoat for slurs

I don’t “want” a slur dude. Doesn’t change the fact that people have called me an r word because I’m autistic. You can’t gatekeep this shit.

okay in what context would it be okay to call someone that in regards to “reclaimant” its only used as an insult and often times you cant even tell visually if someone is neurodivergent and comfortable w being called that

When did I say that that word would be ok for me to call another person? Especially as an insult? I only called you out on your bs that it has never been used for people like me. It still gets used on me and others like me.

it’s weird to justify using it in any capacity by any person. idk why you’re getting so much heat in the comments. i was dming with someone on here and they used it to insult someone and said that was fine because they’re autistic. it makes no sense
