Hey, any suggestions for sensory-safe exercises? As someone who struggles with both overstimulation and significant dissociation when the sweat and strain hit, I haven’t been working out at all, and I feel like a lazy pile of weak flesh for it.

i do a lot of exercise in bed! i have some 5 pound weights that i do arm exercises with, and then i do leg stretches and sit ups when i can. low-impact exercise shouldn’t leave you too sweaty or overstimulated, and it’s a good start while you explore other options and learn your limits. even the smallest movement is better than none :)

If you have access to a gym there’s also a lot of machines that have you sitting down so you can exercise with breaks and sitting down

kettlebell will get you jacked and you don’t have to sweat like a wildebeest either

gang i’m so sorry but you just gotta start going to the gym, everything is scary and new and hurts at first. It’s the showing up everyday that counts. go at midnight when there’s less people and it’s quieter and not overstimulating. Unless you become a Calisthenics demon at home getting comfortable outside is the best option
