I truly appreciate attempts at neurodiverse inclusivity but it’s so awkward sitting in employee training hearing them talk about how to accommodate autistic kids like can you even imagine what they experience! Well yes actually because that’s my life too

And gee there’s nothing more I’d rather do than watch a video that shows what overstimulation feels like when I’m already in an environment with so much new sensory input (/s)

i work in education and it’s soooo weird seeing them preach inclusivity and diversity & then mock or complain about our high school students who struggle or behave autistically

Autistic people aren’t real, they’re purely a thought experiment, didn’t you know? 🥹

Ok so story time, but one of my HS teachers taught a semester wicked fast so he could squeeze in a unit called “facing history & ourselves” which was all about inclusivity and had a whole day that was about learning disabilities all of the units text had forced spelling mistakes so they were hard to read. I fucking shut down, and teacher walked over and was like are you ok? And I was like, I’m fine, but double learning disabilities is too much, we both kinda chuckled and he said you’re good! 👍
