How to make the bad mistakes you made stop haunting you? YES I AM MAKING AN EFFORT TO GENUINELY IMPROVE IN THESE ASPECTS but my mind is obsessive and I have BPD. I am truly exhausted of being pulled back into that moment over and over again.

Any advice on how to regulate or calm myself would also help. Emotions stick on me for a period of time and are usually pretty intense. Please any advice helps

The ifs parts system approach to therapy has helped me a lot personally, also dbt exercises are helpful for bpd specifically because they focus on emotional regulation

i really simple skill that helped me regulate when i was deeper in my bpd symptoms was facts of the ground or something like it. that’s what i learned it as, but genuinely just trying to think about the facts of the situation, tangible things that are true instead of delusions and assumptions. it’s simple but it really helped me in hard moments

this sounds ridiculous but the song “Here Comes A Thought” from Steven Universe helped me like it was a medicine every time I felt that way. the music video on youtube is like a visual aid for different ways you feel haunted by an action (represented as white butterflies). the video is 3 minutes 33 seconds long too, which i found comforting.

I had a therapist with DBT, I am working through my insurance to find a good therapist. Thank you for the advice I will definitely look into the ifs parts system and see how it could benefit me. I appreciate you commenting
