does anyone feel really guilty when they get sick bc their parents used to (and still) think you are just being dramatic so you try to convince yourself you are fine when you are throwing up and just broke from a two day fever
i feel bad for people who grew up with parents like this, very neglectful. my parents were quick to make me drs appointments when i showed signs of illness & tended to me at home as well.

update: i ended up having strep throat and im happy i didnt end up going to work as i work with kids. however that didn’t stop my father for shaming me for not going to work (before he knew it was strep)

no problem! idk who you are but i hope you’re able to unlearn your parents bs. you live with your body, you know better than them how you feel physically & mentally when you’re okay vs when you’re sick.
