I’d rather cancel my therapist and pay the fee right now than even think about my feelings.

Going to therapy just to chill is also an option. “I’m not in a space to discuss those feelings right now fam”. My therapist and I used to play uno on those days

That’s a sign that you need it. Trust me, you’ll be grateful that you stuck it out later. The only way to move past those feelings is to let them out otherwise they’ll keep coming back whenever something upsets you.

I wish I had the money to just “chill in therapy”

You have to pay to cancel. Might as well go and at least have professionally guided decompression time. They can help with that too. I only had therapy bc I was on extended Medicaid bc of Covid and it was free

It’s a lesser fee. But you couldn’t catch me DEAD wasting FREE THERAPY?! That’s crazy.

It’s that or bombing brown children in the Middle East take your pick (I know my choice). You’re also undervaluing how important just being able to exist is in mental stuff. If it wasn’t helpful it wouldn’t have happened. Some weeks I need to cry. Some I need lots of emotional work. Some I need “homework” to do. Others just a game of uno away from the rest of the stress of my life

I don’t think it’s either playing uno or bombing kids but ok

Are you REALLY gonna be mad an impoverished child played uno in therapy on days they weren’t healthy enough to do deep work on the taxpayers dime while our country spends billions in death campaigns? Government’s one job is to protect its people. Supporting wellbeing is a form of protection. And I’m a fucking libertarian

I don’t think either one should happen, but I personally could not do that. Just like I wouldn’t fraud the gov for snap or ebt even tho I don’t need it. I personally just don’t do that because I don’t think they’re right. The gov should not be bombing esp in this case, but that does not relate directly to therapy

No I’m saying wasting sessions feels kinda fraudy. Other people who need it more could be using it but you’re taking up the space

First of all it’s not wasting a session. That’s the key part you’re missing here. The appointment is already made. Secondly, calling off the day of means the therapist sits there for an hour unpaid. No one else can use it with that little notice
