There are so many fucking rules about how you’re supposed to text someone you don’t know well, etc, and neurotypical people tend to make friendships gradually, which I find exhausting. I honestly don’t like texting or online friendships for that very reason. There are too many rules and things can be misinterpreted. I’ve tried to learn them but it seems I can never learn all of them. And instead of telling you directly they tell other people.

And socializing in general just has rules about how gradual you need to form a friendship and if you start treating them like a good friend right away it’s weird. It really sucks. And also neurotypical people tend to have more intuitions rather than analytical reasoning, so they sense something is different about you (autism) and then they just say “oh they’re so weird”. I also had an experience where somebody was actually being creepy and stalked and assaulted me and the police didn’t take me

Omg that’s horrible, and yea I get the thing about needing to make friends gradually. I’m getting better at doing that but I still don’t get why people like hide their true personality while getting to know someone. I like to make friends quickly so I can start being myself around them. Also I have really bad autism eyes irl, and just an off putting demeanor which scares a lot of people off and I’m pretty sure it’s what ended my relationship.
