My neurotypical best friend mentioned to me that she does not have an ongoing internal monologue and that is just mind blowing to me! Sometimes it feels like my internal monologue has an internal monologue! Anyone else feel like that?

My internal monologue is me but I do argue with myself a lot

I’ve got like at least 3 internal monologues, and one time one of them didn’t know the old Mexican restaurant closed so my other one had to explain that’s why we were eating at the other one

My brain is often completely silent. I can think, but there’s no monologue. I just understand things without the words

I actually met another autistic person on here who doesn’t have one either and thinks in pictures like Temple Grandin (famous autistic women who was diagnosed in the 20th century).

My internal monologue is super active because of my OCD. It’s like I can’t catch a break sometimes!

my internal monologue has a couple of different voices that are fighting most of the time and one that is singing all the time

See I get that my monologue is like my interpreter for that. Like someone throws a ball I just know to catch it, but if I’m doing a math problem, or thinking about what I’m going to do tomorrow, or even what I want on a pizza it talks to/as me

I’ve never heard of that but to me it’s like yea I’ve got at least 3 inner monologues who sometimes need to talk to each other, but most of the times don’t. I also don’t experience a “shift” like I hear about from plurals, nor do I experience much not being able to remember

Sometimes my inner monologue is in other people’s voices. It also switches between 3 languages.

To be fair you being plural is still a possibility even if you don’t experience those “shifts” or memory loss. If you are then it sounds like a different type of plural, I think (like OSDD instead of DID)

What’s is OSDD??

"other specified dissociative disorder" of which there are two subtypes to my knowledge, each similar to DID in that there are alters/fragments, but without ticking all criteria (like one is that there isn't full amnesia)
