Lmaoooo Wemby over Brunson as the 2k cover athlete. You had years and years to make Wemby a cover athlete, this was not the time

“Years and years” my brother in Christ, Jalen Brunson was in the league for half a decade before Wemby and never got a cover in that time, Wemby has been in the league 3 years and has a unanimous DPOY and WCF MVP in the same season, why wouldn’t he get it? Mind you Brunson didn’t get a cover the other 2 years he was actually in the league. You could’ve used any other argument for why Brunson deserved a cover 😭 delete this

brunson's had years to become the best player in the world, not wemby's fault that didn't happen

If basketball ended after that Thunder series I’d prolly say he was but not now.

He’s a hell of a lot closer than Jalen Brunson, hence the MVP nomination and unanimous DPOY + all defensive 1st team

26-11-3 (3 being blocks) in his first finals directly following the thunder series and you still weren’t convinced?

I saw him chuck the ball into castle, brick two vital three throws, commit multiple game losing flagrants and be part of the biggest comeback in nba history. He will be the best in the future but he has no clutch now

The spurs collectively as a whole choked that series (similarly, the Knicks team as a whole rallied all those comebacks) and let’s not act like mfs including myself weren’t calling for De’Aaron Fox burned at the stake for essentially choking an entire game that series, which could’ve been a momentum shifter had they closed said game out. Castle and champagnie could’ve showed up more as well imo, not saying Wemby played perfect but the only consistent help it seemed he had was Harper

When he pretends to give a fuck, sorry but when your gimmick online is that you don’t care about the NBA.. your not getting a cover Least marketable superstar of all time he’s just really fucking good

Long-term health and sustainability isn’t guaranteed for somebody of Wemby’s frame. He’s shown his dominance so far but how can we be sure we have it for 10-15 years?

Honestly fair he’s not even really a “superstar” in that sense. But he does genuinely care about the sport but that’s all he cares about none of the extra stuff that comes with it
