Reflecting on the finals, the spurs team was shockingly immature in many ways. The obvious one is fatigue, blowing leads, and celebrating too early. Not pacing themselves at all. Then the emotional immaturity.

I'm all for someone not holding back crying, and it was good to see that after the WCF I think. But going to the finals, it was clear they thought the WCF was the real finals. Losing and shaking hands, conceding and congratulating the winner is fairly basic sportsmanship. This Spurs team has a bunch of great players and hopefully great guys but jeez they need time to condition themselves physically, socially, and emotionally.

I’m super bummed that the Knicks won b/c of the fomo and extraness, but objectively the Knicks team (not necessarily the fans) deserved to win. They’re just not emotionally mature right now. Being unable to maintain a 29-pt lead, “see you never,” letting the other team beat you to your own court, etc is just not what championship teams are made of

And even if the spurs held on to go 2-2, I’m 99% sure the knicks would’ve just won the next two games anyway

It’s cause they’re young. It isn’t an excuse, but a lot of young athletes are like that
