I call it a rapera. Technically Les Miz is an opera too.

Funny enough, Phantom of the Opera is not an opera Hadestown is another example of an opera tho too

Another key aspect of opera is whether the voices are mic’d or not. True opera doesn’t use voice amplification, but musicals such as Hamilton and Les Miz use mics in performance

It depends on the production. Some opera do use microphones. It just depends.
