The only thing Stranger Things ever had going for it was its aesthetic direction, in my unpopular opinion Stranger Things never had an interesting or original story or plot and even though the aesthetic direction is the only thing I praise the show for it still always feels like it’s pandering to kids who are all on the retro 80’s stuff is cool kick but I mean I guess they got me to watch the first 4 seasons and I’m probably gonna still watch the 5th one whenever I get Netflix again and hate it
Honestly, I think they’re all great. Definitely different vibes for sure with each one. 1 is the most original. 2 is very similar to 1, but a bit more supernatural. 3 is where the change happens, it’s more similar to the first two than the last two, but there is a tonal and aesthetic shift and you can def see the impact of the larger budget. 4 is like a modern day blockbuster, like infinity war or endgame, with supernatural elements returning. I haven’t seen 5 yet but can bet it’s like 4.
