Iron Lung if you’re looking for a newer movie. The feeling of dread and claustrophobia is so effective

Damn, really knows ball. Since this is going into classic anime recs now, Aura Battler Dunbine (another Kill-‘em-All Tomino series), Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and Fist of the North Star.

well, if you like napoleon dynamite, i’d recommend magic spot, ghost world, welcome to the dollhouse, relaxer, and real women have curves!

very good movie! i’d recommend “life, and nothing more…,” which feels like a huge influence on perfect days. it’s kind of a sequel to “where is the friend’s house” though, so you should watch that one first.

Is any of his other stuff like it? The premise was so cool imo but I didn't like the gore. Or any good surrealist movies?

trier is pretty infamous for overly disturbing imagery. antichrist is one of my favorite movies, but there’s a scene in that movie that almost made me faint when i watched it. if you’re into his artsy black comedy style, quentin dupieux is a very good filmmaker who covers similar surrealist concepts without all the gore and disturbing imagery you’d expect from trier. my favorite from him is probably “keep an eye out,” but “incredible but true” is probably the best example of a trier-esque story.
