why not bamboozled? one of my favorite spike lee joints. it’s a tough watch for sure, you can feel his rage.

I really don’t like Spike Lee. I’ve seen Black Klansman, Do The Right Thing, and the first 20 minutes of Malcolm X and I cannot stand his dialogue and his themes. Bamboozled sounds like the final boss of all his worse quirks.

I’m also not a fan of “tough” watches. Just because you’re self aware that you’re movie is hard to watch doesn’t make it enjoyable. It just puts it at risk of being pretentious.

by tough watch, i mean it’s like painful to see how black americans have been treated. you’re valid tho! if i don’t like a certain directors dialogue i just know i almost certainly won’t like any of their other movies. dialogue very telling. i personally like it, but there’s nothing wrong with not fucking with it
