yeah like even the arthouse film buffs are mostly just into the french new wave and korean or japanese cinema. not to mention, they can never name more than 3 woman directors.

these memes are usually made by people who are interested in film though. your taste is your taste in all, but i never see these kinds of arthouse cinephiles being toxic and shaming peoples’ film taste, so it just comes off as ignorant and rude to make these memes as if it’s an actual phenomenon.
